Skyroot Aerospace Private Limited
Skyroot Aerospace is a Indian private aerospace manufacturer & commercial launch service provider located in Hyderabad. The company was founded by former engineers & scientists from ISRO. It aims to develop & launch its own series of small lift launch vehicles for small satellite market.
It was founded by Pawan Kumar Chandana (Co-founder, CEO & CO) & Naga Bharath Daka (COO).
Launch Vehicles:-
Vikram Series: Vikram, named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the father of Indian Space Program, is a series of launch vehicles especially crafted for the small satellite market.
- Vikram I : Payload of 225 kg to 500 km SSPO & 315 kg to 45° inclination 500 km LEO. 1st flight planned in mid 2022. Can be assembled and launched within 24 hours from any launch site.
- Vikram II : Payload of 410 kg to 500 km SSPO & 520 kg to 45° inclination 500 km LEO. Can be assembled and launched within 72 hours from any launch site.
- Vikram III : Payload of 580 kg to 500 km SSPO & 720 kg to 45° inclination 500 km LEO. Can be assembled and launched within 72 hours from any launch site.
It has developed its own solid- fuel upper stage Rama-1 for Vikram I & Skyroot was the 1st Indian private company to test such stage. Dhawan-1, upper-stage cryogenic engine for Vikram II. It is the 1st cryogenic engine in India that will use liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a fuel.
